Information to Note:
May is Better Speech and Hearing Month.
Maureen would appreciate it if each teacher would highlight the month to their class by developing awareness of the relationship of hearing and speech in our ability to communicate.
It would be wonderful if each class would raise this awareness in the Science subject area through teaching about how we hear and how we can speak. Here are some other ideas:
In the early years doing some general awareness of ‘How we listen’ would be sufficient. In music class, one suggestion could be ‘How we hear’ and ‘How can we take care of our hearing’.
Maureen hopes to have some announcements that can be read over the P.A. during this month on some ‘Did You Know’ information. Feedback on what she can do to facilitate this process would be appreciated.
Teachers who are in charge of budget lines please see Janet regarding using the rest of your budget.
